Whether you are a veteran homeschooler, brand new to homeschooling this year, or opting for the online school option for your kids because of COVID this year…you might benefit from having some prayers for your homeschool room.
Praying over your homeschool room, whether it’s right at the beginning of the year, part-way through, or on a regular basis, can help to ground your homeschool (and your family) in God’s word.
We pray over our homeschool room as part of our bigger practice of praying over each room of our house. I love that it helps us to declare God’s promises in our lives and ask for his blessing. It’s also a great way to get the kids involved in prayer!
How to Pray Over Your Homeschool Room
Praying over your homeschool room is super simple. All you need to do is to take your kids, sit (or stand) in the place where homeschool happens for you, and ask God for his blessing.
Below, you’ll find the prayer that we use for our homeschool room. If you aren’t yet comfortable praying impromtu, in your own words, then simply use the prayer below.
I’ve also included 8 Bible verses that you can turn into prayers, or that you can use as inspiration for your homeschool day.
You can use this prayer for homeschool just once or on a regular basis.
You can open each day with a prayer for wisdom, patience, understanding, peace, or anything else that your family might especially need on that day.
You can also use this prayer as part of a larger prayer walk through your home.
God promises us that if we keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking, that the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7). Be persistent in your prayers, and bring your requests before God (Philippians 4:6).
Prayers for Your Homeschool Room
God, thank you for the opportunity to learn about the world that you created. Thank you for my/our ability to teach my/our kids at home. I pray that you would help me/us to train these children in the way that they should go, so that when they are older, they will not turn from it. We ask you to grant us patience, discipline, wisdom, and understanding. Please help us to open our hearts to you and to seek you first each day. Grant _(names)_ the patience and perseverance that s/he/they need(s) to grow in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, kindness, faith, and love each day.
