This Halloween candy Bible verse match up game is great to play before (or after!) Halloween with the kids – the big ones and the little ones. This fun and easy game will test the kids’ Scriptural knowledge and get them thinking creatively as they match Bible verses to candy.
As it turns out, there are a surprising number of Bible verses that can be matched with candy! We used Almond Joy, Payday, Starburst, Skittles, Laffy Taffy, Smarties, Swedish Fish, and Swedish Berries for our Bible verse candy match up game. The kids had to pair each candy with a Bible verse that was printed out.
You can turn this into a game by offering a prize to the person who completes all the matches first. Or have small packages of candy that the kids can win when they match the Bible verses correctly.
Ramp up the difficultly for older kids by provided the Bible reference, but not the whole text printed out. Make them recall it from memory, or pull out a Bible (or a Bible app) and find it.
You can also pair this with a Halloween Bible lesson. Halloween is the perfect time to talk to kids about finding fulfillment in God, trusting in God, and being beacons of light and love. Use this Halloween candy Bible verse game at a trunk or treat event, any church Halloween event or Halloween alternative, or at home with friends.
